Liberty Mutual Pays Huge Incentive’s To Deny Claims

Apr 8, 2011 by

Liberty Mutual provides economic incentives that are tied to the amount paid on claims to encourage claims management to underpay or deny claims. Those employees who pay out too much are usually let go. It’s an ethical dilemma that must be addressed. Unfortunately there are too many cowardly managers employed by Liberty Mutual that cannot address this simple ethical dilemma.

We will not warn you again but just in case you forgot… Keep canceling those policies. We are having a dramatic impact on Liberty Mutual’s bottom line.

Laurie SHUT up you are part of the problem. My wife was injured at work over 18 months ago. LM is the insurance company that is suppose to be helping in this. This company didnt deny the claim they just wont pay her the wages she is out. As of right now they owe her over a yrs pay and she is a medical provider. Because of LM we cant feed our kids pay our house payment, car payments, gas, and pretty much all our bills. I am disabled myself so she is the only worker in the family. We have filed 4 BFC(BAD FAITH CLAIMS) in the last 6 months. LM had 30 days to respond to the courts. So far they havent responded to any of them. we have used up our savings and every dime we could muster just to keep our house. Do they care HELL no. Our attorney is even stumped he cant believe they are doing this. What everyone that has them needs to do is find another company to insure them. no clients no company!

James, I am so sorry to hear about your experience with Liberty Mutual. While we focus on the banks they look to them for guidance on how to screw hard working Americans.

I honestly believe the way to stop Liberty Mutual is to stop them. One of the things I am doing is contacting large employers that have their ERISA plans for LTD with them and tell them how screwing their former employees is not good for the economy and not good for their bottom line. These large employers don’t realize how an impoverished middleclass is VERY bad for their business. They need to stop and think about what they are doing. Does your spouse have a private plan or an ERISA plan? Check online for some disability blogs and learn about all the tricks they pull.

  2. Laurie needs to ck her spelling. As an insurance adjuster myself, I can tell you Liberty is in the business of cheating and lying. They will do anything to deny a claim. Health Insurance reform. These theives are next on the list, yeah. Maybe they will be held accountable and provide a service for the premium they charge. Possibly Laurie you did not make it to the 5th grade and don’t understand the process of insurance or the definition, insurancce is the pool of many to protect the losses of a few without profit. Oh thats right that definition in this country was changed to deny deny deny. Screw the people who are unable to work, even though they paid premiums diligently. Maybe you were a 4th grade dropout

Here’s a claim for you all: A worker compensation claimant suffers a traumatic brain injury. Avoiding all the medical terminology, he’s now a monster. He cannot tell right from wrong and ALL OF THE DOCTORS who’ve seen him for the past 14 years have urgently pled for his admission into a brain trauma hospital on a permanent basis b/c he has zero impulse control and is a danger to himself and the general public. For 14 years, LM staff note the medical recommendations and the pleas of family &. doctors to place him in a facility to protect him, the lives of his female neighbors, children and LM buries the records & ignores the case. (I can prove it!) His inability to control his anger and aggresive sexual impulses have injured repeated persons, led to his being locked up in hospitals (the expense of which has been denied) & all of which is noted in the claims file & closed each day with nothing done whatsoever. I have the file, all 3500+ pages of it. I’m going to court next week & the adjuster is due to testify. To all you ex-adjusters etc, would it be correct to assume LM was hoping this man would end up in prison or dead so they didn’t have to pay the claim? No concern for innocent victims? Is this company policy? Current employees (quit) & refrain from telling me the nauseating “we are responsible line” as I have your file Liberty Mutual and I intend on using it harshly!

Laurie Cameron you are a lying when you say Liberty Mutual pays valid claims. Liberty Mutual denies valid claims to enrich their executives. If you profit from them denying claims in any way you too are responsible for the misery Liberty Mutual inflicts on those with valid claims.

We shall see….. My mother 82+ yo with dementia and alzheimers. while moving her to my house for her care, her house was broken into and set on fire. customer with LM since 1969 this house. The adjuster mentioned 2 times already there could be a denial of coverage. If they mess up (I use this term because I’ve been in contact(tracable) with them (LM) since she got sick in 2007 and have audio recordings of some contacts at Beaver Ruin location sometimes 3-4 times in a month. Let them try to deny I got nothing else to do sueing would keep me somewhat occupied

  6. Laurie is a queef

Laurie, Ur the one that is mis-informed. Your probably a lower level grade 12 employee, or new hire! Either case, shut ur pie hole

I obviously can’t speak for the last person but I am one of those former employees who was let go because I attempted to cover an expensive medical claim correctly. I was advised in meeting after meeting to “Control Costs”. I consistently explained I was just covering what the policy stated was covered. This is what the policyholder has paid for. Many people just don’t understand how stacked the cards are against them when they make a claim with Liberty Mutual.

This is irresponsible “journalism” at its worst. Your statement is absolutely not true and against all that LM stands for – which is quckly paying meritorious claims. If employees did what you said, they would be fired and rightfully so. So, check your facts or check your tendency to spout off with the wrong information to avoid embarassing yourself. While you’re at it, check the spelling on your website! Grammatical errors just further subtract from any credability you may be looking for.

      How do you spell “credability”?

    • Doubting Dick

      Laurie,

How can you make that statement? Have you done a google search of ‘Liberty Mutual’ or checked their complaints with the Better Business Bureau?
      http://www.bbb.org/boston/Business-Reviews/insurance-services/liberty-mutual-group-in-boston-ma-89

I think the evidence is a bit overwhelming for even you to deny or discount.

      • I checked the facts

I checked the Better Business Bureau website you linked to and Liberty obained an “A” grade on a scale of A+ to F. I don’t know how the BBB assigns grades but an “A” grade suggests to me that Laurie’s comment may have some validity.

Their Grade has been updated since this article was originally writen 4 years ago. You can now take the BBB grades with a grain of salt. A more accurate temperature check of their business model is their facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/libertymutual where consumers are working towards a boycott and the recent announcement that Liberty’s earnings were down a whopping 30%.

Ha! Ha! You are a troll and a shill for an egregious company that lies and steals from the neediest among us. Liberty Mutual does a very good job of managing their public profile but we on this website intend to change that. They can’t harm me anymore and I have nothing left to lose. I have a compelling story and have only just begun to tell my story. I have already moved large groups of policy holders to cancel their policy and I intend on doing more of this. You denied my valid claim and benefits and now it’s time I return the favor.
