And that’s just in the New England Area! I love my new job! The average premium on those policies stood at around $1000 per policy. Let’s see, crunch some numbers here and that’s a $650,000 loss in premium in 2 weeks! 1.3 million a month!
And these are just confirmed cancellations by former policyholders who contacted us directly.
The campaign is all word of mouth now. We get the same complaints over and over. Clueless middle management decides to disguise their layoffs as performance terminations. So former employees go out and spread the word that Liberty is not to be insured with. You end up with 1.3 Million a month being lost to premiums!
You have to be absolutely clueless to think you can layoff people under the guise of performance reviews and still make money.
You may have saved $80,000 per person you laid off per year but now your losing 1.3 Million per month! Put that in a powerpoint! And that’s only the numbers from the New England area. I would definitely lay off some of those middle managers who made those bold boasts to corporate that they could cut payroll. Absolutely brilliant decisions. Great job! Keep up the good work!

Think about this, canceling your policies with Liberty Mutual just may save your life. We recently had a cancer survivor who needed an MRI. Liberty Mutual has an “unofficial” policy that MRI’s are always reviewed by an independent doctor. Most MRI’s get denied this way but this policyholder’s doctor’s stated that any sort of radiation from additional testing could cause a relapse. Why would Liberty Mutual pay for an MRI when a CT scan or xrays could do the same job? This I was asked by senior management. I explained that a cancer survivor should not be subjected to that amount of radiation. As a matter of fact, no one should really be subjected to the radiation of a CT scan and xrays should really be limited. It’s just not safe. Liberty did not want to set a precedent where they would be paying for MRI’s based on safety because then everyone would want one. Long story short, policyholder developed cancer, eventually passed away, the company was satisfied that the bottom line on that claim was we didn’t come anywhere near the policy limits because we paid out death benefits. This company, in no way shape or form, cares about your well being. It’s about the bottom line. I consider this company a band of thieves and a group of murderers. Their actions are nowhere near being responsible and one day I hope they get the justice they deserve. You can’t thrown them all in jail but the government needs to look at disbanding this company before more people die.
I’m shocked by this… Liberty Mutual has nothing to do with health insurance. nice try with the horror story. The only relevance here is that liberty would have paid out a huge life insurance death benefit on that individual. Check your facts before publicly damaging a good company.
Actually Liberty Mutual is the biggest workers comp carrier in the country and they also have to offer medical benefits through their auto insurance policies. This is actually a very common practice and something that everyone should be aware of.
To Anonymous…you may want to do a little research of your own. LM does have a “cancer policy”.
Just saved eight hundred by moving auto and home from Liberty to another direct insurance carrier with numerous local offices.It doesn’t make up for the pension lost income with being fired 11 months before age 55, but at least I have the satisfaction of not giving almost 4k of claim free premium to “Mother Liberty”.I can tell you what kind of “mother” they are.Let’s just say it rhymes with “ducker”.
It has to be more money lot than that. Some of us cancelled our policies because the premiums were almost double what other insurance companies charge. Obviously your not going to get the same service.
Corporate does frown on some of the complaints that have been bought up here. Those underperforming managers have been moved into different positions to limit any further damage. Jeff B, nice try in trying to scare other employees from reporting your criminal activity at no-Liberty for employees. There isn’t an employee in their right mind that would post here from a work computer. Most need a job. No I think you are going to try to clean up LM from the inside out in order to stay afloat. And that is a good thing.
